Positive Environmental are delighted to welcome Phil Martin to the Pest Control team.
Phil had a varied career before becoming a Pest Control technician, including
roles in construction related industries, designing kitchens, grounds maintenance and
running a cemetery!
Consequently Phil has a wide range of practical skills which is essential for
assisting clients to proof their properties after completing pest treatments. Rodent
infestations, including rats, mice and squirrels, will gain entry to buildings through
openings, which will need to be repaired. Failure to make repairs will inevitably
result in another pest infestation.
The most common proofing works include: -
- Sealing gaps under entrance doors
- Filling gaps around pipes and cable ducts through external walls
- Covering air bricks with mesh
- Filling weep holes with vented plugs and
- Sealing open eaves
Drain repairs is the other major risk area for rats entering buildings.
There are of course other risk reduction issues to consider when looking at
minimising the likelihood of rodent infestations, including clearing accumulations
and undergrowth that provides harbourage, rubbish removal and deep cleaning to remove
food sources, education, etc. All these ancillary support activities are delivered
by Positive Environmental.
