Rat Survey Saves Thousands of Pounds
Rat survey identifies subsidence
A client in Bromsgrove had been experiencing ongoing rat infestations in the attic for approximately 8 years. They kept calling the same contractor who dealt with the infestation but could not find out the cause.
Positive Environmental undertook a thorough survey of the property. Upon lifting the inspection chamber in the kitchen (an extension having been built over the drains) we quickly identified a defective drain, (see arrow) allowing rats to leave the drains, burrow under the floor to the cavity walls and thence up to the attic.
The insurance company arranged for a CCTV inspection to identify the extent of the drain defect before undertaking repairs. This showed defects to not only the inspection chamber, but also the soil pipe and WC, all due to ground movement.
Another very happy customer, whose wife was seriously threatening to sell the house to get away from the rats.
(You do not need to be a financial expert to know that the cost of moving house runs in to many thousands of pounds.)
