All types of agricultural business, from small farms to large commercial farming operations, are at considerable risk from pest problems. If these risks are not identified, or farm pest control solutions are not sufficiently managed, pest infestations can occur, causing widespread damage to crops, livestock and buildings. We have experience in a wide range of farming activities: fruit and vegetable growing, mixed, arable and livestock farming, poultry units and rural estates.
Rodents are, without doubt, the biggest pest threat to farmers. Rats and mice have a tendency to gnaw through power cables and can also damage the fabric of buildings. Mice have been known to breach grain silos and contaminate grain stores with their excrement, leading to significant grain losses. Additionally, rats spread disease, potentially causing illness in livestock and farm workers.
Foxes need no introduction and Positive Environmental are highly experienced in dealing with fox pest problems.
Flying insects are another pest hazard farm owners must contend with. Warm and wet summers especially can lead to bumper crops of stable flies, lesser house flies, etc. If these flying pests are causing distress to your livestock, it is definitely time to call in the professionals!
